Restoration has six biblical
truths we believe are essential for unity. In all other areas we believe that
uniformity is not necessary for unity.
We believe the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are "God-breathed",
or inspired
by God. They are without error in the original manuscripts and are given so that
believers may be thoroughly equipped for life.
We believe there is one true and living God who exists in three co-equal,
distinct personalities: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All things were created by
God and He is directly involved in His creation by directing the universe for
His own purpose and glory.
We believe man was created in the image of God to enjoy His fellowship and to
fulfill His will on this earth. However, man's willful disobedience caused both physical and spiritual separation from God that
affected all humanity, past, present, and future. Since the fall, every person
is born with a sinful nature, unrighteous, and not seeking after God.
We believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God, born of the Virgin Mary, and is
fully God and fully man. He lived a perfect life without sin and died on the
cross, in the place of man, as the only sufficient sacrifice. He rose from the
dead three days later and has ascended to the right hand of God, interceding for
believers.
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This faith
is not of ourselves, but is given as a gift from God so that everyone who
confesses Jesus as Lord and believes in Him will be saved. Salvation is not by
works, but by faith that will produce good works.
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells and baptizes believers into Christ from the
moment of salvation and seals them until the return of Jesus Christ. The Holy
Spirit also empowers believers to be witnesses to the lost and to build up the
Body of Christ by the gifts of the Spirit.
